Hi everyone,
I’m having serious issues trying to install and use Ladybug Tools for Grasshopper.
The main problem is that as soon as I place any Ladybug, Honeybee, or Dragonfly component, Rhino freezes and immediately closes.
However, Ironbug works perfectly fine — it’s the only tab that loads and runs without problems.
A few details that might help:
- I’m using Rhino 8 on Windows 11.
- I don’t have any antivirus software running.
- I tried on another older computer (Windows 10) with the same installer, and it works perfectly there.
- I installed both manually and via Pollination, with the same result.
- All Python modules (
ladybug,honeybee,lbt-recipes, etc.) work fine when tested from PowerShell. - Still, when I open Grasshopper and drag a Ladybug component, Rhino crashes instantly.
At this point, I’m not just trying to fix it — I want to understand what’s actually causing this.
Could it be a Rhino 8 compatibility issue, a Python path problem, or something related to .NET or permissions?
Any help or debugging suggestions would be deeply appreciated.
Thanks a lot,
